Details
Challenges included the construction of this complex project under a compressed schedule and coordinating with a myriad of contractors, including electrical tenant fit-out subcontractors. This project included a 5000-amp incoming service from the utility distributed through a Cutler-Hammer switchboard with busway risers. Five separate automatic transfer switches were incorporated into the emergency power distribution system for staggered load transfers and load shedding capabilities from a 1.25-megawatt emergency power generator.
Ennis Electric provided all the electric for the mechanical equipment, five elevators, lighting and power for the core of the building and site lighting for the parking lots and running trails. In addition, Ennis Electric provided the base building fire alarm system, lighting control system, communications cable trays, lightning protection system and a complete conduit system and related power for the security system.
More than 100 subcontractors were working together at some points of the schedule which created an enormous coordination and manpower challenge. The Ennis Electric team participated in fully drafted MEP coordination drawings for the coordinated installation of our equipment, feeders and cable tray. All promised power delivery and commissioning dates were met by Ennis Electric. Many tenant generated changes added to the challenges, however, the project was completed on schedule.
